The Struggle for Life

I went to Monterrey this past weekend for my mother's birthday. I gotta say that Monterrey is Super Beautiful and there is nothing like it. I feel that it is so underrated and that it does not receive the credit it deserves.

One night as we were walking by the ocean in Monterrey Municipal Beach, I was walking with my family and all of a sudden we spot a shiny substance in the sand. We turn on our phone flashlights and before us is a sea lion. We said "Oh my gosh, that is so cool!" Then we realized that it was injured. It ha bite marks all over the back side of its body. A closer look, it's back flippers were shattered. The Sea lion was just moving itself through its front flippers. It was really sad to see the animal struggle just to move around. We knew it was going to die because the city was not going to get there until the next morning and its back fins were already shattered. It would be too late already. Also, it was so nice, it would not do anything if it was touched and had tears in its eyes. The sea lion looked like a puppy to me.

I started contemplating on the fact that every living creature has to struggle in order to survive. In the animal kingdom, it's an animal eats animal. Plankton are eaten by fish, fish are eaten by seals, seals are eaten by sharks and so on. However, with humans it is much different. In our own society today we have to work and give up of our time in order to survive. Nothing in this world is free because if something is given to an individual, it comes at the price of someone else's labor. We all want to be able to be rich and live in a mansion by the ocean side but that is not simply the case. I believe that if an individual works hard and creates something innovative like the desktop computer or a smartphone, you will get there. Everything is has to be earned. That is our struggle of life. 

Don't be that college student is who feels that you are entitled to everything, because you have to give this world a reason to care about you. We have dominion over our struggles.If you are struggling with finances, instead of buying candy or junk food, save it up and get yourself something nice. Or Get another job and negotiate your wage. If you are having family problems, you have dominion over your situation. Your very own words can speak life into someone, or speak death into someone. The seal did not get to live another day, but you can live to see another day today and get up off the ground, take off the dust of your feet and move on. Let's be adults now that we are college students. Your life is in your hands. Struggle so you can grow. Change your situation and you will see how much dominion you have over your situations. Father Standards Diminished 

Today in our modern progressive society we tend to see couples that are having children without being married. We see that the nuclear family is no longer alive today. Mothers are doing their own thing and fathers are sometimes not even there. Today, I want to talk about my beliefs about father's role in the family and how it affects the younger men.

Our Everyday life 

Fathers are not respected as they should be and they are not active in the life of their children now. I have strong beliefs that the father is the provider of the home along with his wife and the one who should oversee the overall security of his household with his wife's help. With all due respect, I also strongly believe that sex is was made by God to those who are married. ( I know, pretty unpopular belief nowadays right?). I have seen many couples who are not married, then they have children and then leave. They left their girlfriend and left their only child. This behavior is more common in now in these days where young men are not becoming responsible as their ancestors who had strong convictions about the father being present in the life of the child. When a young boy grows up without a father figure, he is more likely to grow up involved in gangs, go to juvenile hall, low self esteem, negative behavior, difficulty in bonding, and emotional distress (Guertin). I pray that an individual has not grown up without a father, and if you have do not make the same mistake and do this to your wife and to your children. I hope that if any young man reads this, they will have a great conviction to not abandon his child and wife and to be the father you were made to be. I know that this is a very unpopular belief and probably something that is not talked about during these days but it is a great discussion to have. The role of the Father is the most important role to a young man. Plain and simple. The Father teaches the young man values, teaches him to be respectful, to correct bad behavior, and most of all, to show that he loves his family and children. Please do not go have sex with a young lady, get her pregnant, and be absent in the life of the child. She needs you. He needs you.

Remember that you are liable for your behavior and will have to give an accounting before God of all the things you did. Make the right decisions today. Don't be selfish and think about your child's future.

Social Media 

Many users today have social media and as the internet is expanding throughout the whole world, millions of people have access to the internet and the perks of the internet is the ability to use social media. However, I want to talk about my stance on social media and what are the upsides and the downsides of it and how it has affected everyone around me.

The benefits of social media to me personally has been to finally connect with family members who are nations and miles away. My family lives very far away from and the nearest family that I have rarely talks to us so to me, social media has been the mediator between me and my family. The other benefits I see of social media is that one will always be up to date with news and events and other occasions will announced through there if there is a major announcement. \

However, the downsides of the effect of social media is what I have seen throughout the people I surrounded myself. I began to realize that the more the people were on social media, the less they had time for their friends and were not socializing anymore. There was a saying that social media gets people closer to those that are far away and those who are closer are being pushed farther away. I try not to spend so much time on social media that it will take away quality time with my friends and especially my family. To me, social media does not have the same effect of socializing with someone who is so close by a screen, rather it makes it more special and shows more effort face to face. In campus, I now see almost everyone being anti social and are always on the phone because no one wants to socialize with anyone else. That is why I do not see that social media is very beneficial to society rather, it separates all the individuals and makes everyone anti social in the environment they are in rather than the digital screen they look at. 

Con of College 

The last blog that I wrote I talked about what I admired about being in college in participating in class. Not to also mention, all the amazing perks to live on campus like our very own game room and grocery store with a breathtaking scenery! 

However, now I will talk about what I experienced in college and what I dislike about college. 

In college, it is the center and the place of all the ideas of people living in it and attending the university. This university and should all others as well, should be educating the general population and igniting conversations just about anything in the spectrum including, life, beliefs, controversial issues, and knowledge and wisdom.  This should be the salad of ideas. 

What I have been seeing is that this educational campus is pretty shocking from my two most prominent classes of all, US History & Government. What I have seen is my professors can overwhelmingly be really biased and not give platforms for students to engage in a conversation that might be different to the way they are thinking. It shocked me because again, college is the gateway to ideas and should be teaching us how to critically think, not telling us what to think. I am a very controversial person because I probably think differently from the way other students think about many issues and ideas. Either way, professors should be giving multiple perspectives on what has happened in this country and not just give one perspective and then move on. If you only show one side, and completely disregard all other explanations and rationales, you are indoctrinating, not educating. I will gladly discuss with professors in a professional manner also with students if a chance is given or the opportunity rises up. This is my one concern with University's in general because they are teaching & grooming the next generation.

Most professors are open minded and are willing to discuss, and yet again, there is no complete censorship on material that can be talked about! So again, let's have some conversations shall we? :)

CSU Stan Experience

CSU Stanislaus Experience 

                 So far college is great and I am loving it! It is very different from High School because high school is more restraining and college is more about independence. I do not have to come to school if I do not feel like it because its not mandatory. However in High School, my parents would have been arrested if I was not going to school. College is very different also because everything I do is on me and not on my teachers. College is like living somewhere other than home. First of all, there's a Pop's Bargain Outlet little store in campus. That is crazy! There's a game room next to the Outlet and one has their very own Warrior Grill! That's crazy! One can also join a sorority or a fraternity if they want! College life is way better than High School life! 

 One of my favorite classes in College is my tennis class. Tennis is one of my favorite sports to watch and play because it is so intense yet so professional and quiet versus football where people are talking the whole time. My next favorite class is Public Speaking because that class is full of amazing people and  because of that class, I will become a really good public speaker.  I am getting used to this blog so if it is very bare, please have patience with me because I am new to this website. I hope that this blog will give you some perspective on how college is compared to high school and how they do not treat you like children in this school!

This is just an example, I am using blogger for the first time and I am trying this out!
